Established in January 2008 under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, AKEPT’s vision is to “Shape Minds, Build Leaders.” AKEPT plays a crucial role in transforming the higher education landscape, focusing on developing academic and institutional leadership. It aims to inculcate value- based leadership, talent management, design and execute development programs based on AKEPT Leadership Competency Framework . As part of its commitment to excellence, AKEPT actively engages with various universities to evolve their leadership training.
On January 26, 2024, AKEPT extended its invitation to EDU’s Founder Vice Chairman Mr. Sayeed Al Noman and Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Nazim Uddin to visit and participate in an engaging discussion on innovative ideas to achieve excellence through collaborative efforts. A team of IGLE (International Graduate Leadership Experience), a unique venture organized by EDU, led by Mr Sayeed Al Noman, had the opportunity to attend the intellectually stimulating discussion. The IGLE is a unique graded course that allows students to immerse themselves in foreign culture and the education system. Through this immersive and cross-cultural engagement, they are not only enriched by the academic experience but are also able to foster a sense of global citizenship in them.
The session was brought together passionate leaders invested in the growth of higher education, including AKEPT Director Professor Dr. Harshita Aini Haroon, Deputy Director of the Center for Leadership Development Associate Professor Dr. Azila Ahmad Sarkawi, Deputy Director of the Center for Leadership Sustainability Mr. Azrul Izham Hamzah, Registrar Ms. Hanis Huzaira Abd Hanan, and other officials.
The collaborative spirit behind this invitation sparks hope for new partnerships that can unlock the full potential of both institutions. By exchanging fresh ideas in a spirit of goodwill these leaders have taken the first step on an exciting new journey of growth and discovery. As the visit concluded, both EDU and AKEPT expressed their commitment to nurturing the newfound relationship. The knowledge exchanged, relationships formed, and cultural bridges built during this visit will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the academic landscape of both institutions, paving the way for a brighter and a more interconnected future.
