East Delta University (EDU) recently rallied its community to support the treatment of Tanjin, the son of one of the university’s cleaners, Bashiullah. Tanjin has been receiving medical treatment for a year after breaking his ankle in a devastating accident.
In this time of distress, EDU had come together to support the treatment of Bashiullah’s son, Tanjin, and raised a significant amount of money. Although EDU had collected 85,000 taka through crowdfunding which will be used for his medical expenses, it won’t suffice to cover the cost of surgery and thus everyone is seeking further support from the wider community.
EDU Founder Vice Chairman Sayeed Al Noman handed over the collected funds to Bashiullah, expressing his gratitude to the teachers, students, and officials who had contributed. He emphasized that EDU is like a family and strives to promote values and empathy among students.
Members of EDU’s Social Service Club, Erudition Club, and Model United Nations Club had actively collected funds from students using various in-person and virtual platforms. The total amount collected was 85,000 taka, however, the university community has called upon the able-bodied sections of society to come forward and help cover the remaining expenses. The Social Service Club, Erudition Club, and MUN Club have been conducting awareness activities throughout different social media pages to support Tanjin’s treatment.
Tanjin’s family expressed their gratitude towards the university and especially, our Vice-Chairman Sayeed Al Noman for the noble deed.
EDU always believes that every member employed here is family and it is our moral responsibility to lend a helping hand to everyone when required. In the near future also, we would like to continue this trend and support everyone in need.
