The Women Empowerment and Leadership fund at East Delta University is a financial resource that is specifically designed to support the advancement of women in various aspects of their lives. These funds are typically set up by the organization to provide financial assistance to women who are facing barriers to their personal and professional development. 

The goal of these funds is to promote gender equality by providing women with the necessary resources to overcome challenges, such as access to education, health care, and economic opportunities. 

Women empowerment funds are essential in creating a level playing field for women and promoting their participation in decision-making processes, which can ultimately lead to a more inclusive and equitable society.

East Delta University (EDU) offers this special scholarship named ‘Women Empowerment and Leadership Fund’ to poor but promising women to fulfill their dreams of higher education with an aim to help them reach the highest peak of success. Women who are financially poor, achieve good results, participate in creative activities, and take a leadership role in the social sphere are eligible to apply.

The scholarship is giving many women the opportunity to study for free and develop themselves despite family dysfunction, gender discrimination, and violence. The university authorities have called upon all capable women to come forward and take advantage of this initiative taken with the cooperation of potential students.

Currently, 14 potential students, including Ramisa Nujhat, Jahan Tabassum Jisa and Faiza Akhtar, are studying in EDU with this scholarship. They expressed their gratitude to the university at an exchange meeting organized for them in the seminar hall of EDU.

As an educational institution, EDU has been working to ensure the participation of students from diverse educational environments and all classes of society by providing various scholarships and facilities since its inception from its social responsibility, said the founding vice chairman of the university, Sayeed Al Noman. The Vice-Chancellor Professor Muhammad Sekandar Khan, Dean Professor Dr. Nazim Uddin, and many others were present at the exchange meeting.

Applicants for this scholarship must have a combined GPA of minimum 9 in SSC and HSC or equivalent examination; Total points should be 30 for O/A level. Besides, candidates involved in voluntary work with any NGO, social organization; Engages in poverty alleviation, development of underprivileged communities; Or those who have already played an outstanding role in the society or are entrepreneurs will be given priority.

The scholarship has opened doors for many women who never thought of studying at EDU, given their financial and social obstacles. The EDU family feels delighted to offer young talents the scope to excel in fields where they can bring out the best in themselves and reach the highest peak of success!
