East Delta University Celebrates 52nd Independence Day and National Day

East Delta University (EDU) observed the 52nd independence and national day of Bangladesh at its Campus Interaction Zone. Presided by Prof. Shams ud Doha, Treasurer, EDU, renowned economist & Professor Dr. Moinul Islam was present at the keynote speaker where Vice Chancellor of EDU Professor M. Sekander Khan was present as the chief guest.  

Dr. Moinul in his speech said “Bangladesh has come a long way and achieved wonders over the last 53 years. Among many achievements, consistent growth in GDP & Padma Bridge are our notable ”

52nd Independence Day was judiciously commemorated at East Delta University. A gathering was organized to commemorate the occasion, and eminent economist Prof. Dr. Muinul Islam, Prof. Dr. M. Sekandar Khan, Vice-Chancellor of EDU, Prof. Shams Ud Doha- Treasurer of EDU, Mr. Sajal Kanti Barua, Registrar of EDU, Md. Nazim Uddin Chowdhury- Director: HR & Diversity of EDU, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abul Hossain served as the meeting’s chief orators.

Mr. Rafiqul Islam Bahar, the bureau chief for EKUSHEY TV, Sajal Kanti Barua, and Nazim Uddin Chowdhury, the director of human resources, all talked on various topics. Professor Dr. Mainul Islam, an economist who won the Ekushey Medal, stated that even after 52 years of independence, “we are still unable to fully enjoy its advantages. While it is true that we are no longer subject to West Pakistan’s exploitation and tyranny, socioeconomic disparity still persists.

“It is important to instill in the new generation the actual principles of the liberation fight,” the speakers declared. By emphasizing the genuine history of our liberation struggle, we may better instill in the next generation of Bangladesh the values of non-communalism and equality.

Before the gathering, university staff members and officers lay wreaths at Shaheed Minar on the institution’s EDU campus.
