East Delta University (EDU) is known for its vibrant student life, and events like cricket tournaments only add to their enthusiasm. In a remarkable show of gender inclusivity, female students are also actively participating in the EDU Premier Cricket League, alongside their male counterparts.
The third edition of this exciting tournament was inaugurated by Professor Muhammad Sikandar Khan, the Vice-Chancellor of EDU, who remarked on the inspirational participation of female students in the league. He blew balloons to start off the tournament at 3 pm on Monday, October 30, on the university grounds.
EDU Founder Vice Chairman Sayeed Al Noman expressed his pride in the university’s approach of not favoring monotonous studies, but encouraging students to participate in various activities. The aim is to develop leadership qualities in the students through such events.
The opening ceremony was graced by special guest Alif Chowdhury, owner of Sara Agro, and attended by all the university’s teachers, officers, and students. The league has 48 teams of boys and 8 teams of girls participating separately, with Sara Agro Farm Ltd. as the sponsor.
In the opening match, boys teams Team Vipers and EDU Warriors competed, with the Warriors clinching victory. This tournament is a shining example of EDU’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive student community, where all students can participate and showcase their skills.
